About Us

A small team building the workspace we wanted to use ourselves.

Our story

Office Remote Desk started because helping a colleague fix a machine three time zones away should not require a VPN, a ticket and an afternoon. We wanted something you can install in a minute, hand someone a 9-digit number, and be connected.

Then we kept running into the same second problem. The remote work was done — and the hours behind it were still scattered across a chat thread, a spreadsheet and somebody’s memory at the end of the month. So we built the rest: team chat and meetings, projects and files, a timer that turns into a timesheet, and an invoice built from the hours an approver actually signed off.

It is one app because that is where the work already was. And it is self-hostable because a tool that can see a screen, a chat log and a working day has no business being somewhere you cannot point at.

What we believe

  • Remote access should be private by default.
  • You should be able to host it yourself.
  • Measure work, not people. Counts, never content.
  • Hours should reach the invoice without being retyped.
  • Simple beats configurable.
  • Fast is a feature.

Where the line is

We build a time tracker with screenshots. That is a tool people are right to be wary of, so here is what we decided before writing any of it — and what the code does, not just what the marketing says.

Counts, never content

WorkTrack records how many keyboard and mouse events there were, never which keys. There is no setting to change that: no code captures typed content and no column could store it.

The member holds the switch

Nothing is recorded unless someone started their own timer. They see their own diary and can delete any screenshot of themselves — the minutes stay, the image goes.

Yours to keep or delete

Screenshots can be blurred, turned off per project or per person, and expire on the retention period you set. Self-host and none of it reaches us at all.
